What is the best intake mannifold??????
I am wanting to upgrade to a performance intake mannifold. Any suggestions on which one is best for the money and performace. I plan to keep my rochester carb on for now.

Anything that will fit under a Vette hood....My Weiand Action Plus does and it also can be used with either spreadbore or squarebore carbs.....something to think about if ya ever want to go to a Holley..... :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod:

I have the Edlebrock Performer Model 2101, not the RPM on my 74 with the original Rochester carb, am still able to use the original filter assembly and it all fits without any mods to/or replacement of the hood.

I went with the Performer also but went the 3701/egr route. I wanted to maintain the original air cleaner assembly and the smog junk. The hood will close but I wasn't happy with the clearance. I purchased another upper ring for the air cleaner and had a shop remove about 1/2" rise from it (stashed the original). Looking back, I wish I had went with the polished intake. The standard intake turns color pretty fast. Maybe the polished do also.

I have the Performer 2101 on my 72 also. To make hood clearance with an Edelbrock carb I had to get a really deep after market 14 inch drop base, but did manage a 2 1/2 inch filter.

I love my Holley Street Dominator - Dual Plan. It seened to make more of a difference than the Performer that a friend of mine used on his car. Just my $0.02.

I did the Edelbrock Performer (w/EGR) and an Edelbrock Quadrajet on my 73. I couldn't be happier with 'em. :cheers:

nope. not on my 76 w/a 750 holley and the stock L48 hood. we are attempting to solve the prob tonight. I'll let you know what we come up with tomorrow.

Try a Edelbrock Torker-2, and sell the quadra-bog and get a holley.
Just my opinion, don't flame me for the Rodchester comment, the other suggestions were good too.

The Air-Gap performer is no taller than the stadard Perfomer and it fits under our 73' L-82 fine. It fits under my hood too (74 L-48). The RPM requires a drop base air-cleaner. But, it should fit under the 74 hood w/out any problems.
