Wow, you are really suffering from a lack of traction. 114 mph in a manual trans C3 should put you easily in the low 12s. Drag radials and a slight slip of the clutch on the launch should get the short times into the 1.8 range and take a second off your ET.

Hey...nothing broken is a good day!!

I've managed some 1.70 60's on BFG street radials...but not very often. Also did some 2.40's one day with the 540 and still managed 135 MPH with a solid flat tappet cam in it. Took a LONG time to get moving... but like you was reeling them in on the other end!

Certainly improving 60' times is going to help a lot. MPH won't change a lot...just depends on when you're able to get your foot in it and how it shifts.

What was the 1/8th mile MPH?

You could run 11's at 114 MPH if it hooked. If we can get the MPH up...that thing can run low 11's/high 10's!

I started thinking you might be right so I did a little bit more checking on the motor. The heads are 990s, the xch stamp is on the block, but that doesn't tell me what the pistons are. I checked cranking compression and the highest was 240 lowest was 215 average was 225. I think that number might be a little skewed since I left the door and radio on so the battery was a little lower towards the end and I did notice the compression was consistently lower towards the end.

I'm gonna try and find a good inspection camera to try and see of there's any markings on the piston tops and see if they look like they might have been cut down any.

I know for a fact the next time I see a dyno day around houston I need to put the car on it so i can see where I'm making power and where I need to be shifting to stay in peak power.

The carb is a 850 dual line but it's vacuum secondaries. I have a 850 with mechanical secondaries but it needs to be rebuilt and it doesn't have a choke on it. I don't doubt if I put it on it'd make more power.

A good tune up, dial in the timing, put the double pumper on, then get it on a chasis dyno to get the jetting in the ball park. Who knows if your secondaries were even opening all the way--I've recently seen this on a brand new #3310 750 vac sec.

That's step 1.

Step 2 is put some ET Street Radials on it, I'd use the 255/60s since they are only 27" tall, you need as much help with the gear as you can get. Pop the end links off the front sway bar, set the tire pressure at 17 psi warm, then let it eat.

I think you can realistically go 11s with it but it's gonna take some work, tuning, tweaking... This is the fun part.
