I am cleaning up my wiper bay area and removed the wiper arms.
How do I remove the base/mount that the arms sit on?
It looks like just a few nuts but they just spin.
What am I missing here?
Ok.....I got it.
It was just the one nut, the one I started with of course! The others came off pretty easy and I had to pull the one off with vise grips. Didn't hurt the threaded stud because that nut was quite stripped.
I'll post up before and after pics when I'm all done!
Hi,
Here you can see the 3 nuts that mount the transmission to the stud plate, and the 3 bolts that mount the stud plate to the cowl.
If the nuts are spinning the studs are loose so take the 3 bolts out which will allow you to get to the rear side of the stud plate.

Alan
You posted while I was looking for the picture!
Glad you got it loose.
Hi MrJ,
Actually the transmission itself should be black too regardless of the finish on it when it was manufactured.
It was already installed when the black-out was done in the wiper bay.

Alan
