"Sucknoco" gas the problem??

I have run into water in my gas and was taught by my dad as a kid to just add a bottle of dry gas which was about $1 a bottle at a gas station or autostore the last time I ran into this problem. I believe as the steel tanks were replaced at gas stations this issue has become much less common.
