I have an numbers matching (mostly) 69 that did not come with factory A/C. After driving it my first year I decided it needed A/C to make it more enjoyable. After a couple of years to find all original parts, it is time to start putting things together. I have a new condenser and a new radiator support for a small block with A/C. Three of the mounting kinda line up except for the top drivers side that has not metal around it to put a bolt in. Does someone have good pictures of their original 69 to help in the assembly of my A/C system? The radiator support in the car now looks like it could hold the condenser in the middle of the frame, but the dryer is too close to the passenger headlight housing to fit where it should. The new radiator support looks like it shifts the condenser to the passenger side a couple of inches which makes it off center (looks weird) but I'm guessing it would allow clearance for the dryer. It's just the mounting hole problem that is holding me up and I just want to make sure my parts are correct. Thanks for any help.
Thank you. I have those same pictures for the install, but in that position the dryer is too close to the passenger headlight. I’ll look at it again and see if I missed something. Thank you.
A photo of what you have would help. The top two condenser mounting locations share the two inner radiator top bracket bolts. The lower mounting points are formed with small, self-tapping bolts in ~1/4" holes.
With the two top bolt holes in to support the condenser, the two lower holes look like they line up. The lower tube is too close to the headlight frame to allow for the dryer. Let me know if you guys need more pictures. Thanks.
