I have a 1980 I just went to (Vette Brakes & Products) and purchased their Big Daddy performance Plus package. I will not be using a rear sway bar. With there kit i was able to do away with it, so I want to put 17-9 1/2", 17-10" or 18-9 1/2" or 18-10" wheels on the rear and i am looking for the widest rim and tire combo I can put on. Can anyone help? Can I go wider than a 295, id like to get a 315 in there if i can. I believe the spacing is 4" in the front rim and will be 5 1/2" or 6" in the rear of the rim.

I have off-set trailing arms, custom sway and the biggest wheel I can fit back there is an 18X9.5...maybe an 18x10 (Boss didn't have one in that size). My tire is flush with the fender at 5.5 BS. If you have a stock set of trailing arms I think you'll max it out with the 18x9.5. I don't recall but I believe my tire size is 295 in the rear but I would need to look. BTW - there are a lot of threads on this subject with lots of feedback from folks on the forum. Recommend you spend some time reviewing those as well.
