Just installed my headers and chambered exaust. Seems like a different car. Sounds awesome and seems to have a bit more pick up. I was definately making heads turn as I drove by today. Next task is to put a performance intake mannifold on and install a removable rear window. That is as soon as my wife allocates me the money.
Re: Headers and chambered exuast installed!!! (VetteRN)
Nice, I'm running headers and 2.5" chambered pipes with a 2" crossover. the crossover really helped the mid to high rpm exhaust popping. I had to cut the pipes this year to remove them and used a chain pipe cutter and SS strap clamps. As a result I was able to tuck the pipe in better then before.

Re: Headers and chambered exuast installed!!! (VetteRN)
i'm running the same set-up on my vette headers and chambered exaust
with a BB LS6 i love the sound i may need a cross over because of popping when i shift gears
Re: Headers and chambered exuast installed!!! (1970LS6)
I was planning on putting an H pipe in then decided to see what it was like without one, besides the fact that the only place we found to put one was under the tranny (wasn't sure I liked that, esp if I have to drop the tranny - would be a pima.) Not really having much popping, just occasionaly. We'll see, may still end up doing it. I love the sound though, even my wife likes it. I thought she would say it was too loud.
Re: Headers and chambered exuast installed!!! (VetteRN)
Terry,
I have the same set up but have not installed the pipes yet. I am also concerned that the wife will say it is too loud. So heres what I am going to do. Run around with open headers for a while. This is so freekin loud! Then put the pipes on. She will hear the difference and be satisfied. Either that or she'll be half deaf. :jester
Re: Headers and chambered exuast installed!!! (Stewart's74)
My buddy Jeff has chambered on his 350horse 74. And they seems to mellow for my taste. Maybe after a few years I'll get tired out the LOUD Dyno-Max's I'll have Flowmasters installed or something. But, either way they make the heads turn. Chambered makes a stock 350 sound like a beast. http://www.dynomax.com/race.stm (I've got the Bullet muffler on the bottom) :reddevil
Re: Headers and chambered exuast installed!!! (VetteRN)
Definitely do the H-pipe...I ran mine without it for a few months, and it really quiets the interior with the H-pipe, also cuts the popping WAY down, and seemed to boost low and mid range power. It did mellow out the sound a little, but I get compliments on my exhaust now, whereas before I usually got "why'd you put glasspacks on your Vette?"
