Default 700R4 carb bracket

Hi Guys, I have a new 700R4 tranny bolted in. I'm using the original Q-Jet. Is there a bracket that will hold the TV cable, and the original throttle cable? Or is a new throttle cable needed. Found a bracket at Jegs, but I am not sure about the cable connections.

Check with bowtieoverdrives.com . . . they have several bracket options. I bought their TV Made Easy cable and brackets, but I know they sell the standard TV cable and pretty sure they have a bracket for you. If they don't, may be worth a quick call to them and they can tell you what you need.

If it's the original Q-Jet, and you don't mind getting your hands dirty, you can also swap linkages from an 80's A-Body or F-Body to get the OEM linkage designed for a 700R4.

Whoops - just realized you have a 73. This only applies if you have an M4M(75 or later Q-Jet, on vettes these will have a "17058xxx" casting number, but can be identified by having an air horn with a 2" notch in the choke flap (which matches a 2" wide extrusion in the casting). The extrusion (and corresponding air door notch) in a 4M is only slightly larger than the vent hole.

just going thru this to get ready for my 700r4 swap in my '72, bought the BTO setup

the BTO ez tv cable set up comes with a plate that goes under the carb

but unfortunately it fouls with the std '72 vette quadrajet throttle cable mount.

so i made a bracket at work to hold the throttle cable and the ez tv cable

original

my attempt, excuse the poor welding

I got my tranny from BTO. They have been very good to work with. The bracket for the Q-Jet they included will not allow the original throttle cable bracket. Looking at aftermarket like they suggested, but think I will weld part of their bracket onto the original. A gentleman responding to this did just that. Go C-3's!

Very Nice! I had the same idea, so it was great to see how you addressed this puzzle. You did a real nice job with that IMO. Have you put it into service, and is it working well. Thanks for sharing!

the swap, if going to my plan, will start next week from the 16th, hopefully.
just been getting things ready, as per https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ddly-bits.html

being downunder, things take a bit longer to ship here.
that's why i made my own bracket when i found out the BTO wouldn't work with my original setup.
