Default Headlight Doors

I'm having trouble with closing the headlight doors om my 73. I have replaced the boots in the vacuum cannisters; the hoses; and the line filter. The passenger side headlight door will not close at all, and the driver side closes extremely slow. Any ideas regarding what else to pursue?

Replace your vacuum relays, one for each side. Did the trick for me and not very expensive. That is if you dont have a leak somewhere else.

Hi I73,
You might want to check the operation of the relays before spending the money on new ones.
Reverse the hoses so the relays are operating the other side headlight.
If the symptoms move with the hose change it's a relay problem, if not it's something else.
If you have a small vacuum pump with gauge like a Mity-Vac you can easily check the operation of each relay and each actuator before just buying new reproductions.
Regards,
Alan

Hi i73,
Alan is correct, I failed to mention that after finding my problem to be in the relays I replaced them and it took care of my problem.
