Default Best Interior Insulating Material ?

I am installing a Vintage Air unit in my 68 roadster and plan on insulating the interior floors in the process. I would like some feedback on the best insulating material that people have been using. I know about Dynamat and Hushmat and they seem to stress sound deadening almost more than the insulating value. I don't mind hearing the roar of that big 383 as I run it through the gears but I do want to be cool doing it.
I am sure this topic has been discussed in the past but any suggestions or product reviews would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Yup, this topic has come up a few times. There are several types of "mat" that all do the same job, with a wide range of prices. If you compare the thickness of them, you`ll find you don`t have to spend a fortune o get the car insulated.
Then there`s the "Reflectix" that many have used on top of the mat. It`s available at the big box home stores, fairly cheap, and easy to put in.
I used "Fat Mat", with Reflectix over it. The carpet went in perfectly.... but I did have to trim out some of the jute backing for the carpet pegs on the back wall, the hooks for the T-top strap, and the dimmer switch.

Any combination of materials mentioned will work much better than the factory "insulation". I used a jute with foil on one side under the new carpeting that had the factory type jute attached and the car heat disappeared…On another car I used a fat mat material under the factory carpeting and that barrier worked well too. I think the easiest and possible cheapest solution now would be reflectix under the factory carpeting (with attached Jute). Not sure about the early C3's but the later C3's had a vacuum water heater control valve that should be replaced with a manual valve that you can turn completely off (cuts all hot water to the heater core). With these two changes, all heat from the engine and exhaust will pretty much disappear from the interior...
