You can get at it through the storage compartment (jack side) on the 3 door compartments.

Ratchet wrench works, swivel end ratchet wrench works better

Don't be tempted to leave it out when going back together, probably the #1 reason for busted e-brake consoles

thanks for the info, I lifted the compartment where the jack is and reached back , and put my hand on the bolt, but was unsure if that was it,so that is it.I thought it might be under the car or would have to pull all the storage boxes out to get to it, thanks again.is that a 7/16 or a half inch.

I agree but I installed the bolt into the parking brake console with the head torwards the engine and just slid the threads into the hole.

I'm gonna have to take apart the console soon. Any lessons learned from your experience in taking apart and reassembly?

Just checked. Seems that whomever reinstalled mine decided to skip the dreaded hidden bolt.

Good advice given here.
  1. It's a 7/16" bolt.
  2. I also reversed orientation on re-install, putting the bolt into the console (facing rearwards) and then adding a lock washer and a hex nut in from the back. Seemed easier than managing the bolt back in to place blindly.
  3. Surely, you do not want to leave this attachment out on re-install. If you do, order a new console - you'll need it...

do some stretching, its a tight area.putting the bolt back, just make sure the council is in the same place, and use a rachet style boxed in wrench.
