Need some information. I have a 74 L82 25K original miles. what do I need to do to determine if the rear bearing are still within tolerance and or require grease? I have one of the plastic tools to add grease but have been warned not to use it as it can cause issues. What say you?

the tool only lubricates the inner bearing and if the components are not properly reassembled can cause an issue. Jack the car car up and see if you have lots of play in the wheel bearing by grabbing the top and bottom of the tire. If you feel play make sure it is the bearing and not something else moving such as worn side yokes in the differential. If you hear no noises there is nothing wrong with the bearings.
