I blew apart my door at work the other day thinking it'd be a simple job to fix the hinges and get the window to roll up. Needless to say, I drove home without a door that day on the freeway; When I came back to pick up my door, someone moved all my parts and I think some pieces got lost
I cant seem to figure out why my window tracks dont line up with the top of the door. Is there an alignment plate missing for the rear window track like the front one has? The bends are really weird for the left side, I'd think it should be straight like the front is. The bend looks factory though. No wonky marks on the metal. http://s78.photobucket.com/user/the5...vyhol.jpg.html http://s78.photobucket.com/user/the5...iprgb.jpg.html
Before you blew apart your door, did you purchase the assembly instruction manual (AIM)?
With your door blown apart, the AIM could be helpful in putting it back together since it shows how all the door glass hardware was installed, the orignal GM part numbers for everything, and instructions for setting the door glasses.
I have the AIM. I just figured that there might have been a later revision that got missed. Glad that mystery was figured out. I had time to look at it again, it has a hairline mark for it being bent. It's just so perfect though it looks factory. Now only if i can bend my motorcycle exhaust mounting brackets just like that...
Going to take a torch and see if i can bend it back. Thanks!
