Default 1968 Temperature sending Units

I can no longer locate my sending unit in the intake manifold as it originally was and am forced to locate it in the cylinder head. Does anybody know if head sending unit has the same resistance to record accurate readings on my 1968 gauge? I also see that the head senders are a two wire unit where as mine has a single wire.
Thanks

Dosen't the temperature sender go into the head between #1 & #3 and connect with the same green wire?

Hi ex,
I believe Willcox has done quite a bit of work with various temperature sending units and their calibration.
I'd give them a phone call and ask for some advice as to just what sender to buy.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan

68-71 Was a single wire bullet connector, 72-78 was a single wire spade connector. Both were the same thread size.

Do both of these units fit in the smaller opening on the cylinder head or are they the larger thread designed for the intake manifold?

The stock location for 68 was in the head. What manifold do you have?

Never really had an original engine in the car. I started life as a 400/427 by the time I got it there was an ailing 396 in it and I put a small block with fuelie heads and an edelbrock manifold so never really knew where the original belonged but guess it is going back to it's original location. Thanks
