I was wondering if anyone here has used the transmission or power steering treatments made by a company called Lucus?
This old timer I was speaking with at the auto parts store says he swears by it.
That was his .02.
Any first handed opinions? The tranny is starting to shift funny, and I can not afford a rebuild anytime soon
Okay, now I'm curious. I've often seen the stuff at the parts stores, they even have a little clear plastic toy thingee on the counter with gear wheels in it so you can turn the gears with a crank and see how sticky the stuff is. I always thought it was one of those cheap & very temporary fixes for high milage problems like Marvelous Mystery Oil, just knocks the viscosity up and makes the oil thicker. So what's so special about Lucas & why would people be swearing by it? Details!!
JB, that is. This stuff reminds me an awful lot of STP -- remember that stuff? After all, thick oil raises viscosity and reduces leakage. A temporary fix -- okay under certain circumstances.
Thanks for the input. I picked up a bottle tonight and I'll let you know if it helps.
I do remember reading a long time ago here that the PS additive really did the trick for some as far as leaks, rough spots, etc.
I dont think it is in anyway like STP. It is not that thick-not like molasses.
We will see. For $7 bux, I'll try it.
