Default 71 AC evaporator change

Hi!

AC evaporator hose on my 71 vette broke and I can't get the evaporator housing off to get the evaporator out.
Is there any special procedure?
As the things look so far it seems like I will have to move the engine?!?!?
I removed the longtube headers but I still can't get it off.
The same goes for my heater core which is clogged. I just can't get it out.

The heater core can be removed from the inside of the car. Search for a you tube video on it. Also I just changed mine and while time consuming it was not that hard. To me the hardest part was getting the plastic duct back across to the vent hookup on the drivers side.

There are a couple of bolts from inside the car, along with some under the hood.

I'm lost. You should be able to replace a bad hose without having to remove the evaporator.
