Default Interior Lights don't work.

Hello everyone!

I seem to have an electrical issue that ONLY affects the interior of my car. I have a '75 C3.

The Problem:
None of my dash lights turn on, Neither do the Center Lights.
I noticed my Electrical antenna doesn't come up as well when I turn on the Radio. I tried messing with the Rheostat on my head light switch but nothings comes of it.

I checked all the fuses in the fuse box, they all seem fine.
The funny thing is, The only working light in my interior is the map light attached to the rear view mirror. all exterior lights outside the car are fine.

What do you think the problem is?
where can I start to Diagnose this problem?
it it is not fun driving at night.

any tips or help is beyond appreciated

Model year? Have you checked the IP lights fuse? I've seen bad fuses which looked okay to the naked eye. Define "messed with the rheostat"? Is the light switch installed in the dash?

Default Hi and welcome again!

The tail light fuse feeds the instrument fuse.
If the instrument fuse fails only the dash lights go out.
If the tail lamp fuse blows both the tail lights and the instrument lights will be out.
Remove each fuse and check for continuity and re install then check for power at both sides of the clips that hold the fuse.

Hello Mike!
I have a 75 C3, I did check the fuses a week ago. Everything looked OK, but I will check again and see if anything changed.

When speaking about the rheostat, i meant that I turned it all the way both ways. Nothing changes.

Check the IP fuse terminal to make sure it has power. What Mike is telling you is that the terminals in the fuse panel will corrode, testing the fuse is a mute point if the terminals are corroded.

This is from a help page I'm working on... it's not published yet but will be on the site as soon as the updated site is turned on.

Testing Dash Lamps. No dash lamps, but tail lamps working.

A) Test the “Inst Lmps” fuse for continuity on both sides by touching only the fuse.
If yes go to B
If no replace fuse.

B) Test the “Inst Lmps” fuse terminals with fuse in place for continuity by touching terminals only.
If yes proceed to C
If no, remove fuse and clean terminals on both sides touching terminals only. Retest and repair until continuity exist between the left and right terminals.

C) With the headlamp switch pulled, test for power on the right hand terminal in the fuse panel marked “Inst Lmps” fuse. This is the green wire from the headlamp switch and it should have power with headlamp switch pulled in the first or second position.

If no power exists, test continuity from the right hand terminal in the fuse box to the green wire at the headlamp switch connector.
If continuity exist,
Test for power on the orange wire at the headlamp switch connector.
Replace headlamp switch.
If no continuity exists, wire is damaged from switch to fuse panel.

If fuse pass’s continuity test
Test orange wire for power at switch.
