3" drive shaft ?

Any one using a 3" drive shaft ? Not half shafts but the main drive shaft

I had one made years ago. The 406 was getting up there in power, and I felt I needed the added insurance in the driveline. Think it was from Driveshaft Specialties.

thank you I should have asked sooner lol .. I am having one made @ 3" .. I was just concerned with tunnel clearance and back at the diffy .. Thank you !!!

I am using a 3 1/2" aluminum shafts for the driveshaft and half shafts. Had to clearance the trans tunnel to get the driveshaft to fit. Half shafts were no problem

I have a 3" aluminum driveshaft. It fits, just center it in the tunnel.

The half shafts need to be bigger and stronger than the driveshaft due to the increased torque on them due to the gear multiplication effect of the differential.
