Hello everybody
Calling You from Sweden.
I have restored a -69 conv and started it last weekend.
When I started it, the left headight opened and then Close. The right one was OK. I have ordered a new relay. Can it be another problem????
With best regards Lennart Björnerhag
(I had to bay a car because my wife do not want to ride the motorcycles) English AJS Comp -54 and HD Sportster -68
I would test the actuators as well as the relay. My thought is that if the relay was causing the issue both headlamps would pop up. 69 was a single relay headlamp system. The same relay controls both lamp housings.

while the vacuum system may look intimidating , it is actually quite simple once you grasp the concept. a vacuum pump or even a vacuum cleaner can be used to operate the system.

I have changed sealings on the actuators and checked them with a vaccumpump. My thougts was that the relay was jamming (excuse for my bad English) and the actuator on the left side is a bit slow, I Think the relay is normally in the opening posistion without vaccum.
Thank You Willcox, You solved my problems with the temp gauge, Works as a Dream now!!!!!!!!!!
