Down to the details on a return to stock build. My question is regarding whether the TCS system is critical to the correct function of the engine and transmission?
Currently, the trans engages into reverse pretty hard (which is partially due to low engine vac at 15" hg [small cam] and not having a hard trans modulator line…yet…bending that this weekend), but otherwise runs and shifts fine. But I wonder if TCS would improve transmission/engine performance (not speed or power, but general running).
The purpose of TCS is to prevent vacuum advance in any gear expect 3rd for your automatic. It is purely for emissions and will not improve anything, you are better off running vacuum direct to the distributor. Are you sure the front differential bushings are not worn out?
