First time posting. have been reading a lot about brakes here. bought a 80 c3 last September. took a few rides lost brake pedal. bled brakes all around. nice hard pedal ,few rides later no pedal. went on like this rest of summer. I measured run out at .005. so this year thought I would start right, bought 4 rebuilt lip seal calipers and the kit for change to o ring pistons. spent hours painting them, pulled lip seal pistons out, dipped new o rings and pistons in fresh brake fluid, and put them all together. was feeling good, put calipers on car bled brakes both backs leak, took apart put back together, still leak took apart again put back pistons with lip seals, they still leak do not know what to do. thanks for any info tricks installing o rings.
No tricks from me.....just pace yourself so Corvette brakes don't drive you insane!
I had to drive my car around the neighborhood until the extra brake fluid applied during the assembly of the pistons finally drained from the rubber boots and the lip seals seated themselves......I have had no more leaks or low pedal for 8 months.

Back in the day [ when younger & had time] I would split the haves & clean up the inside housing with a brake hone & drill then rebuild. That's kind of what they do when honing a engine cylinder. last fall I bought 4 rebuilt Lone Star o ring calipers from Keen Parts about $100 each. Had to replace one of those due to leaking after that no issues
going to take them to work with me. my foreman has a family member that is a mechanic, who will check them, and hopefully fix them or at least tell me where they are leaking from so I can return them for refund or exchange. if piston is leaking probably my bad. any other place I figure bad part.
finally got to take a decent ride and come home with brakes. Roadster71 was right. both back were leaking from in between the halves. one was so bad you could see light in between, other one had a pit right under o ring. my neighbor trued up the faces new o ring and all seems well. now to correct run out and should be good brake wise. thanks for your ideas.
