Default 2004R transmission mount question.

Put my 2004R transmission on yesterday and I have a question about the transmission mount. It's replacing a TH400 so the length is good. I thought of using the mount from the 400 but the holes are off by 1/2" when trying to line them up on the now transmission. (see picture) The mount that came with the 200 looks like a late in life replacement and has one bolt in the middle to bolt to the crossmember. What would be the best method here, widen the holes 1/4" each way on the 400 mount so it bolts to the transmission or drill a hole in the middle of the crossmember and use the existing mount from the 200? Also, I guess I have no use for the exaust pipe mounting bracket now as there is no where to attach it on the 200... Anyone know the bolt patern to mount to the 200?

Just elongate the existing holes...but balance the amount you remove so both holes are the same. Use fender washers underneath, in addition to [split] lockwashers and nuts. That will keep things 'centered' as they need to be. Replacing the THM-400 with the 200-4R is much easier than installing a 700-R4.

YUP, I have had a 700 in my stock Muncie '72, and of course modified the drive shaft......then because of gear ratio problems, I put a 200 in there, much better, stock thm350 drive shaft.... and it sets directly on the cross support without that 'shoe' mount that went forward off the cross support to fit up with the Muncie.....and the 700
