Nice show! I know a guy who just put $8K into an eclipse. Upgraded turbo, variable boost control, perf. exhaust, etc. He was able to get into the 14's.....

I was running mid 15's with an L48 that had headers, Performer RPM, and holley 600.

I think younger people will always try to modify what's current. But, I think the most bang for the buck lies in older RWD American V8's. My favorite is the C3, but there's plenty others worth making fast.

Can you immagine what the results whould be if you put $8K into a small block?!?!?
I've seen blown big blocks offered for less than $7000 recently!!! I just don't understand those people that put tons of money into a "Rice" car... They could get a nice muscle car with real V8 power for the money they put into their cars.... I don't get it.... Maybe I'm getting too old to understand them (I'm 31).....

The Demon is good out of the box and better when tuned correctly. I went one step lighter on my vac secondaries spring, changed to the correct power valve (vac @ idle divide in half and add 1"), set the 4 corner idle with a vac gauge at the highest reading and I have found that the Demon is very sensetive to timing. At first I couldn't get the idle right - it was up or down all the time. Finally I got my timing right and the idle has been rock hard every since. I didn't have room for a big carb spacer so I used the Fel Pro FEL-60123 for $10.59. it's about 1/4" thick and the carb likes it, just make sure that you put the Demon gasket on top of the Fel Pro spacer. Happy Racing (off the streets)

Look for vacuum leaks. After that it could be the carb is to small. I had the road demon idle screw removed and it idled at 1100-1200 rpms. I have no vacuum leaks at all. I ended up calling Demon and they told me they made a special carb for the ZZ4. I ordered it and put it right on and with no tuning it idled around 750-800 rpms. But you have an automatic so it acts different then my manual.

Sigforty, I saw you are getting a new carb, I'm assuming it's the Mech secondaries Speed Demon for the ZZ4? I haven't had the idle trouble but good lord does that exhaust stink.

I'd be really interested in hearing about the new carb once you've used it for a while if you have the time. In the future I plan on going sequential EFI so I can't decide whether or not to jump to the ZZ4 carb from demon or just hold out with the Road Demon until I can afford the big jump.

I'm mainly interested in hearing if the thing still stinks like a lawnmower. 'Cause that's what mine smells like.

I will let you know the minute I can get to it. I wanted to take the car out yesterday, but it started pouring. I just need a break in the rain and about an hour to get things straight.
