Default Comp cams pushrods

Is there any difference between the comp cams high-tech pushrods vs the magnum pushrods? Other than the price that is.

Magnums are c1020 high carbon steel and the Hi Tech are 4130 chromemoly.....straight out of the comp book.

I use the High Techs

According to Summit they are both Chromoly. Magnum is the c1020 and the hightech are "high-quality premium steel alloy". So which is better flex-wise.

I'd trust what I got out of the comp catalog before I'd use the info on Summits site.
Things can change though....give the comp tech line a call and ask them.

I'm thinking the hightech ones are the ones to use also. I'll give the tech line a call and see what they got to say. thanks

AND....you should always trust what Summit writes in their catalogs......FACT! there is no "Chromoly Steel" in a 1020 grade of steel....these are STOCK OEM grade pushrods not what I would use for performance build. You can buy these same pushrods cheaper from Melling Engine parts or other suppliers. Trend is the company who does most of Comp Cams pushrods....OK stuff....if your doing a performance rebuild go with the "Magnum" series or one of the better grades of materials/technology parts from other reputable parts suppliers. Smith Brothers and Manton are other reputable suppliers.

Talked to Comp cam tech for what that was worth. He thought I only needed the Magnum pushrods. Ehh..for an extra $30 I'll get something a bit better.
Short duration cam, but relatively speaking high lift. So I figure inertia forces are pretty high at 6000 RPM on a shorter duration cam with moderate hydraulic intensity vs longer duration with same lift.

Most all .080 wall black oxide pushrods are made by Trend Performance in Michigan..(including Comps)...they are owned by Diamond pistons.

Pretty much the standard of the industry now in a performance engine.
