I searched for this but no luck. I replaced just the pump bleed it, then when i start the car the wheel wips hard left stays there and the hole system starts jumping and bangin when you take it off full lock just a bit. I have been trying to bleed more lock to lock running and not. no effect any thoughts?

Did you replace the hoses on the control valve?
If yes, you have them switched.

Your steering control valve is way out of adjustment.
No i didn't do the valve line's,I put new line's from pump high/low.Cant see how they could be switch, There is only two holes in the valve one big one small. It worked fine before the pump swap?
It sure sounds as if your control valve is out of balance. However, I just don't understand how changing the power steering pump should throw the control valve way out of balance as described.
One other observation. If there was something wrong with the pump, you would have problems in both directions. (The pump flows oil and builds pressure; it doesn't know which way you are turning.)
Try balancing the control valve. It is a fairly straight forward procedure and shouldn't take much time.
Some last comments: I always jack both front wheels off the ground and rotate the steering wheel full lock to full lock about two dozen times (BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINE.) The assist cylinder will act like a pump and force oil (and air) through the power steering system where big air bubbles can make their way up into the pump reservoir and the air escapes to atmosphere. You may need to add power steering fluid as the air comes out and the fluid level drops.
The problem with starting your engine (and doing the above procedure) is that air and oil is whipped to a froth with the engine running. Then millions of very tiny air bubbles get sent through the system and can cause noise and erratic power assist. This foamy air/oil mixture then takes quite a while to work the air out.
Lastly, I always recommend genuine General Motors power steering fluid. I really doubt that your problem is fluid related. However, the best overall fluid to work with the Saginaw power steering pump is GM power steering fluid. GM #89020661 or AC Delco 89021182.

Reason: More explanation
The shaking and banging does happen from lock to lock. It only stops at full lock left and right. But it wants to turn left all the time, if i go to full lock right and let the wheel go it spins back hard left.
maybe, I just replaced all the lines Friday on my new '76 and bled manually aout 10 times lock to lock on the lift before I started it. now it will turn itself all the way to the right. did not do that before. but then again, it was leaking pretty good...I think adjusting the valve is good practice whenever you open the system.
BTW, I read and followed all of Jim Shea's tech articles before I started...very well done sir!
