For those that are running this carb can you post some pics or descriptions of how the vacuum lines were routed? I am in the process of mounting the carb and appears I have more vacuum lines than ports.
1 is a timed vac port, connected to vacuum advance
2 is manifold vac connected to pcv valve (2 ports) and from the pcv valve to vapour canister
3 is a timed vac port which goes to the tvs switch in the thermostat housing (vapour canister purge)
4 is manifold vac. This port is plugged so you need a NPT to hose barb fitting. I use it for brake booster vacuum
There's no fuel vapour vent on the carb, so if you have a 5 port canister the carb vent needs to be plugged on the canister
Vacuum for headlights and heater control still comes from a fitting in the manifold

Thanks nick that's a big help. Have to find a low profile 3/8" NPT fitting for the headlights and auto transmission. The only fitting on the eldebrock performer intake is right behind the fitting that you used for the PCV and I will have to run a line there. Thanks again for the help.
My pleasure. I actually swapped out my edelbrock intake for a weiand street warrior because the manifold fitting is further away from the carb, closer to the cilinder head. I couldn't find any fitting low enough to fit under the pcv carb port. Hope you have better luck!

gdh, it's simple, easy to open, rigid throttle mechanism. I bolted it on and drove after setting the idle. I only have about 100 miles on it. Pulled the plugs recently, they are rather black so it's running rich. Some tuning is definitly required. I do have a starvation issue when i mash the throttle from start or when cruising at a steady pace.
The fuel bowl evaporates less quickly then my quadrajet 2weeks compared to 1 week (95 lead free). when it's filled it starts intstantly hot or cold. Hot start with my quadrajet needed some throttle help. Fuel vapour is better contained, there's no odor except when you put your nose in the venturi.

Here's a pic of mine- logged almost 7500 mile on it since last year. Performed great even w/ the tremendous heat this past week on the Hotrod Power Tour.
Saw an average of 15 MPG- and that's w/ 3.55 gears.
Too bad I have a knocking rod- and had to be flatbeded the last 25 of the 2000 mile trip....
However- after rolling off the Flatbed- it started up immediately- knocking like hell- as I drove it up the driveway to start pulling it apart.
Whatever I decide on-whether crate or rebuild- this carb is going back on it!!!
