Default Hard to start

I have 72 vette with 454, new rebuilt Quadrajet.
The problem is that when it sits in the garage for 1-2 Days it starts just fine, but after 5-6 days it is really hard to start.
It stumbles and blacksmokes before it finally starts, after 3 or 4 attemptes
There is definitly fuel so that would not be the issue (empty carb)

Your thoughts.....

I believe the fuel leaks out of the bottom of the carb. I'm no expert but I believe there is a repair. Others may chime in.

Carb is new rebuilt by an expert on Q-jets so that should not be the cause..

The next time the car sits for a few days, look down into the carb and push the throttle arm to check for a squirt of gas from the accelerator pump. If there's no jet of gas, that means the fuel has drained out of the bowl or the accelerator pump is bad. But it sounds like a very rich mixture caused by fuel drainage. Pull the carb off the engine, fill the bowl with 30cc of fuel thru the vent tube and sit the carb up on some sockets in a pan. Then watch for drips.
