68 coupe engine identification
I have a 68 coupe with VIN 1943785415117 wich I think is an early ´68.
Car has 6.300 redline tachometer, I was told it´s a 427 car.
The engine numbers are K12 20 TJB at the front of the pass side head and 3970010 at the rear.
What do you think? I don´t know what engine is.
Thank you in advance!

K = McKinnon Assembly Plant
12 20 = Dec. 20th (There should be a date code cast on the rear of the engine to give you the year it was built.)
TJB = The "T" indicates Truck. A "C" would indicate passenger car. Could be either a 1973 350/160hp 4bbl conventinal cab truck or 1979 350/165hp 4bbl forward cab truck.

My 68 is #16660 coming along behind yours on 4/20/68.
I recently bought the corvette fellow thunderclap with VIN 194378S415117, I'm doing a complete restoration, I want to remove the bodywork, paint the chassis, engine change (the current is 350) and restore all its parts with original components, the problem is that which is not his motor home, 327? or 427?
I have some hints that the car is a 427;
- The hood is the 427 model, (but may have changed)
- The fan has the engine is very separate from the radiator, this tells me that previously had a longer engine
- The reboluciones account has the red line at 6500 RPM
- No return petrol tank (this may have been removed)
I searched the printed order over the fuel tank, but this is not
I found a web (NCRS) that can investigate where the vehicle was purchased, it costs $ 40
For me it is a very special car and I do not spend my money on a 427 engine, but I worry about than your motor home
As I can know 100% if it's 427 or 327?
Sorry for my English translator
Thank you

Hello Pedro,
I have just sent a message.
That number "5" in the middle is actually the letter "S". A common mistake, but if it shows up on your title you should get it corrected.

The shipping data will tell you only the name of the original dealer where the car was shipped. The information will not provide any information concerning options the car may have had.
Congrats on the 68.

in the door plate it indicates H28 (March 28), but the vin tells me it's the beginning of April,
which is the correct collector admission, 3937795 or 3919850?
What is the correct block number for my car?
Thank you.

this is very complicated, little information, there is no exact date for the change from one block to another, only information recorded as correct number of cars and indicate that in April even block 3916321 was mounted by this information I think the block has be 427-400 HP (early) L68 3,916,321 and 3,919,850 admissions, which investigated other cars in late April and have the block of 3,916,321, my car is in front of them;

We have requested a quotation for a complete engine to David Crane, I think that will get us out of doubt, hope to have a fair price and to restore my car with the engine home had
