Default Help me decide on engine .....

As you can see from all my other B.S. posts (and recents polls), my car is in peices. Im contemplating so many things (which is fun sometimes), and love hearing your opinions.
My engine needs a rebuild, I was thinking either 355 or 383 (with 268H, still try to pass emmisions), but my blocks a 2 bolt. Can I still go with a 383 and be safe? Will it last? (my goals are 12 sec 1/4, but reliable enough to drive daily, not that i will), I have a 4spdmanual, and im not sure about my gears..

2-bolts should be ok for drag racing.. Only for road racing or longer high rpm trips you will need a 4-bolt... 383's are very cool engines....mine runs 12.49 on street tires!!!

sd pacer, I've seen a few members pass. Vettesite with a 355 and the 268 passed Illinois emmisions. Im not sure if the 383 will squeek by with it though.

Cubes is King. I'd go with the larger ci you can afford. With that in mind a 383 is great motor, quick rev's and lots of torque. :yesnod:

go for the 383 if pocket can handle it, 2 bolts work fine for hot street and strip cars are know to have 4 bolts, nice but not mandatory
