Both are still doing rebuilds. Don't have Gary's contact info but Mike is at 214-717-8379.

Just saw Gary last week. Stopped by his shop and chatted for a while. He has plenty to do but is still doing it all. His work is impeccable. Correct contact info above.

Don't know if anyone has dealt with both so they can compare? I've had plenty of stuff done by Mike and his work has always been impeccable.

East of Mississippi River, Gary R.
West of river, Mike D.

Use an old ice chest of an appropriate size as a crate.
Budget $125-150 for shipping.

Gary did my diff. I wouldn't let anyone other than these two do a diff rebuild for me.
Wish I would've gone 12 bolt...

I can tell both know their stuff. Gary is booked through november. Pricing the ridetech and 600 for a sway bar hurts the wallet. Total for stage 2 is 6450

FWIW you might want to check with Greyhound or Forward Air for shipping heavier bit such as this, tho they don't deliver door-to-door. I've used both over the years. HTH

My 68 diff was rebuilt by Tom's Differential and the 70 diff was rebuilt by Tracdogg (Mike). Tom doesn't rebuilt diffs anymore, but just sells his parts, many of which are extra strength custom made in the USA. My 70 has an all Tom's parts for the diff and rear end. Mike did the machine work and assembly. I didn't go for Tom's 12 bolt diff, but I did buy his strongest 10 bolt set up. Both Mike and Gary have excellent reputations, I choose Mike since Texas was closer (!).

Shipping the diff. Get a plastic milk carton crate from a grocery store. It holds the diff nicely. Secure it in the crate with nylon zip ties... a lot of zip ties. Cover the crate in cardboard, just so no one can see inside. To save weight, I shipped the diff without the cover...I kept the cover at home. The complete diff with cover weighs about 95 pounds (?), removing the cover saves about 10 pounds I'd guess. I think I shipped mine FedEx. Call the rebuilder about shipping carriers to use.
