Default Replacing AC Hoses when converting to R134

When converting to R 134 on a 1980 Corvette should the compressor hose assembly be replaced? The existing hoses look to be in good condition and the car only has 24000 miles. Secondly, what is the best orifice tube to use?

From what I've heard is that it is better to keep the old hoses because a new R-12 hose will leak with R-134. I use a Ford blue orifice tube.

I agree with bruiser. I used the original lines and a Ford blue orifice tube. 42 degrees out of the center vents on a 100 degree day with 134a.

We use the white GM tube but if the blue one works for these guys it should be fine. the original hoses, if in good shape, will be fine. just check for bubbling or leaks when charged up.
