Came off the freeway at about 85 onto the exit, shifted down into 3rd and and revs went up to 4000 and I increades throttle and it just flat died. Since engine was spinning down I had some power steering but the rest was arm strength, scared the poop out of me  Came out of the curve and fired it right back up, ran like a champ the rest of the way home. 2nd time this happended. Any ideas?

You mean it fired back up by itself or you put in nuetral and restarted the ignition? Either way really Id think it has something to do with your fuel delivery. How much gas did you have in your tank? Maybe when you go around corners all the fuel sloshes to one side of the tank and away from the pickup. Do you know if your tank has baffles in it? If its not happening back in the tank the second place I would look is the carb.
Years ago, I had this same problem in my 66 with the 327. Climbing a right hand turn on a steep hill and the car died. As it started to slow and exited the turn, I put the clutch back in and it fired right up. It would only do this on right hand turns. I was new to the Corvette world and chevy small blocks. Someone told me with out a doubt it was the fuel pump. "Right" I said. Until it did it several more times. I put a new fuel pump in the car and it never did it again.

Quick and easy to run a check of primary ign wiring...it would seem there should be enough gas in the carb to get you around a corner...I wonder if it is only when you turn one direction? My cousin had a loose motor mount that would cause the engine to race in a hard right turn. Anyway, good luck ! :seeya
I liked The QJets, but I used to have the same trouble when I cornered hard. The center pivot Holley carbs solved the problem for me.
I also recall a magazine test showing a 70's Vette with Q Jet corning in the upper .80's cornering one direction, but only in the mid .70's the other direction because the car couldn't keep running in the turn. They said it was definately fuel problems. I can't remember which direction was which; but, you might keep this in mind.
