Default Crazy Question

How do you take the pedal and pad off the gas pedal rod? Can't see it on the bottom. Cotter pin maybe?

Drive the pin that the pedal pivots on out. It's a one way only pin, with a head on one end. The torsion spring that gives the pedal is rocking motion is on the pin too, so pay attention and don't lose the spring when the pin comes out. You'll have to put a load on the spring when re-installing.

Hope this helps.
