I just installed a RetroSound Model 2 car stereo in my 69 Corvette, replaced the stock radio and added pioneer 6x9's in enclosures in the back. I followed the instructions and attached the ACC 12V power, the ground, and attached the constant 12V power to the orange wire going to my floor lamps. It all works great, until I start the engine. Radio is on, it indicates a station, song, and indicates USB to iPhone is working--- But no sound. Turn of the engine and turn the key to on position and back positions and it works great. Start it up, no sound.
Can anyone give me a clue on what may be happening?
I don't have a retro sound but looked at the wire harness I could find online... I don't see an orange I see a yellow that goes to 12v all the time ... That should go to the BATT spade on your fuse panel or do like me I used the Orange wire that goes to the clock in the cars harness... It's for memeory and clock on the radio but needs constant 12v for radio to work correctly.... Not sure how u are using lamp wires as they are only on with the door jam switches or by putting on the coutesy via the headlamp switch.

I put exact radio in my 72, a while back. Looking at the diagram, you need to connect the yellow wire directly to battery, and the red wire to ignition switch. I'm thinking the source you connected the constant 12V to is being affected when you start the car. I would check wiring and run temporary wires as suggested and see if that solves the problem. Do you have an amp connected as well? If so, may want to check that wiring too.
