Default Still overheating..argh!!!!

My 73 was over heating so I replaced the thermostat and the thermostat housing and then it seemed to run at a perfect temp. On the freeway or another open road it will run 210 or just a little hotter. But today I was driving it around town and she did it again almost made it to the red!

The only other thing that I can see that would be causing it is the previous own put this huge aftermarket Howe radiator on it but there is no shroud. Can I find a shroud to fit this radiator or shroud I put a stock size radiator back on with a stock shroud?

What else could be causing this? :mad
I'M starting to think maybe I bought a lemon :cry

Without a shroud the fan will simply draw air from around the radiator rather then through it. Also without the radiator seals above the radiator the air will also tend to flow over the radiator at speed rather then through it. I'm guessing that it if the shroud is gone so are the seals so you have two counts against you getting air through the radiator. Also do you still have the front air dam? You could run electric fans with your current radiator (they have built in shrouds) along with the upper radiator foam seal and this should improve the airflow throught he radiator considerably.
