Trailer arm issue?

Trailer arm issue?
So I'm new to my 78 standard. Absolutely love it. When I bought it I was shown the drivers side trailing arm assembly was recently replaced. The passenger had not. I didn't think much of it. After about 200 miles on it when I really get on it when turning it almost sounds like a bearing or something howling on the passenger side. Whe I let off it stops. At normal speeds it runs and sounds perfect. Any ideas?

It's rare people replace just one side and not the other but you work with what you got. Many vendors here have an exchange service or will rebuild your trailing arm for around $300. Then you'll need to install and align it properly. Can you wrench on your car or will you be paying someone?

What you describe, could be the spindle bearing, but it could also be something else, like the half shaft universal joints.
Start by grabbing the right rear tire and giving it a good shake. If you've got much movement in it, you probably need the trailing arm rebuilt.

I will give it that a try. It's seems a lot of the local shops around are not to up on these and seem to be a bit intimidated. Thank you for the advice.
