Air Conditioning Questions
I have two questions. First, one AC guy told me that the A6 compressor cannot be converted to R134. T or F. Second, the highest fan speed on my AC switch on the console does not work. The fan increases speed with each detent until the top speed where it cuts off completely. Is this most likely to be the little switch at the top of the control unit, the control unit or something else. It's a 70 model.

Question 1. F, get a second opinon, I think you need to change drier and someting else but not compressor, unless you want more efficient type. Check catalogs MA,CC, etc I think they show conversion kits and what you need. :crazy:
Question2. I was told the high speed only works with Air conditioning and if the system isn't running the fan won't either in max position. I have seen other posts on this and they say check relay, so you might search archives for correct info. :seeya

The A6 compressor works fine with R134a. My '71 has been running R134a for years now.
No high speed blower usually means the high speed relay is bad. It is located on the evaporator box, facing the engine.
Take a look at the webpage in my sig. Has some AC info on it from when I converted mine.
