I am wanting suggestions and experience on a front spoiler/splitter for a 71 454 car before I make or purchase, first I need to get more air through the radiator, then look good but most important handling, are there any new spoilers being made ? I really like some of the older vintage type spoilers with the rounded sides but can't seem to find them anywhere.
NOT OEM, but some black plastic used for garden/drive edging from HD/etc.....just trim off the round bulge/flange, and round up the ends, screw to the car--glass flange, mine been there for years now, it does help......without hanging so lo it hits driveway ramps/etc.....
I had wondered about the stock smaller spoiler, with the added extension off of a 79 would make a decent spoiler that would handle curbs, Also always wondered about that garden siding material,, so I don't need the smaller factory spoiler to attach it too ? do you have a pic of yours

Reason: better
I went with the Pace car type front spoiler that is made to fit the 68-72 cars. I had it wrapped with satin black 3M carbon fiber Di-Noc vinyl because I don't like the looks of these spoilers painted body color on the chrome bumper cars.
Wow it really looks good, the pace car style is on the list, there is another that interests me, the super spoiler from custom image corvette and wondering how it is different form the ACI super spoiler, but that pace car 1 peace really is nice, I think for me it is between the pace car and super spoiler or taking a stock plastic front spoiler and adding the extension for the spoiler off of the 79, just extends the original with rubber, but it just doesn't have the aggressive look the SS or PC spoiler has,, thank you for sending your pic in, its really helps to see what others have done and why, thanks again
Before I put the Pace car spoiler on, I had the rubber spoiler extension installed. It is basically a hard rubber extension that bolts onto the 68-72 stock spoiler.
Here is a pic of it on my car:
I bought it from Doc Rebuild, item "C" on this page:

I thought I was the only one with edging for a spoiler! Wasn't going to tell anyone. 😀

The question specifies spoilers.... but does your State require front license plates? You`ll get a lot of extra air moving if you can remove the bracket for the front plate.

Beautifull!
Was thinking of getting one, and looking at yours, I will pick one up.
