if you want to rebuild a car . I figure I have around $6500 to get my car back to good . that's interior suspension ( bushings control arms bearings, leaf spring ) I can put roughly 1500 to 2000 a year in it what order should things be done , this year so far new brake booster new carb , trans filter and oil , new plugs , wires , cap , rotor, coil , shocks , vacuum lines , radiator hoses . car drives pretty good just a little loose in suspension .
That's a nice budget. You can do a lot with that kind of money. If, you do most of the labor.
Brakes first, always. Suspension next, bushings, shocks, TA's, check yokes for end play in the diff. If diff is leaking, might as well have it rebuilt. Front and rear suspension total rebuild sending out TA's and diff, you doing everything else will cost approx $3500. New exhaust next. Get the AC going if you have one. Go after interior next. Then, start saving for a paint job. In three years you will have a beautiful , dependable car.
