Default Radiator Support for '71 350/4-spd

I'm having trouble finding compatibility information for Radiator Support replacement on my '71 350-270HP 4-spd with A/C. I came across someone locally that is selling a radiator and core support that came out of a '71 350-270HP Automatic with A/C. I don't need the radiator, but the seller said he'd sell me the support separately. The core support appears to be very solid and won't need any rust repair. My question to the CF is if this support from an Auto Trans car is the same as what is in my 4-spd car?

Thanks,
Rick

Hi,
There were I believe 3 core supports used for 71.
1 for the aluminum radiator.
1 for the 26 1/2" copper radiator.
1 for the 27 1/2" copper radiator.
I know one of the copper radiators was for automatic sb cars and one was for all bb cars.
I don't know how a/c may have affected which copper radiator was installed and thus what core support you got.
Sorry, I don't know anymore than that.
Regards,
Alan

AKR. I am in the same boat with my 70 SB 4speed. My support is full of rust holes along the bottom. It must be our Ohio winters and salt. I have been looking for a while for a decent used one. It is quite confusing with the different options...small block, big block, auto, A/C, aluminum/Copper/Brass. I just went out and measured the distance between the lower saddle mounts on my old support (26.5 inches) and that's what I am shopping for. Can you get a measurement from your old support?

Look at your old support... If you have a mounting bracket only in the middle and an aluminum puke tank, you have a aluminum radiator and the support you are looking at will not work.

This is a small block alum. radiator support.. notice the two brackets for the lower are more centered and they don't use the long flat insulator, they use two round rubber insulators.

If you have two brackets on the outside of the support that hold the radiator (and no radiator middle support bracket) then you have a brass radiator. Next measure between the top two brackets and see if the measurement is the same.

Big block with brass was different than small block with brass. A small block car with AC and Auto used a support that was 26.5" on center, (AirHak's support above is a small block support with a/c 26.5 on center). big block used 27.5 on center.
