'81 that I have removed the factory air intake on. I would like to buy an earlier model top radiator seal that would seal the space between the top of the radiator and the '81 hood. Has anybody gone through this? I know that I can buy some pipe insulation from the hardware store. I'd rather make it look like a stock piece. Thanks in advance.
It worked pretty well. While not a perfect fit, it quickly conformed to the shape inside the hood. My 1980 repro hood does not have all the same underside bracing as stock, so you may want to make sure the foam isnt too thick for yours - but the concept works, so you should be fine doing this.
Thanks cooper9811. That looks like what I may need. I'll order the piece for a '72 and report back with the results. I'll listen to any other comments on this as well. Keep 'em coming.
Dr Rebuild makes the highest quality body seals that are like OEM specifications. Maybe not the cheapest but, the best on the market, their customer service can be a little lacking but, that is where I source my radiator seals from as they are 2nd to none.
