71 LS5 AC Compressor Pivot Pin

Hi, I have been trying to assembly my AC system and really having a go at it. The issue is the lower front compressor mounting. I believe there is a pin (I have it) that is used as a pivot point for the compressor. The rear has a threaded bolt.

The problem is there is no way to get the pin in and it is making me think that it may not go there. The factory assembly manual does not show this very well nor any of my diss-assembly pictures I too.

I would be most grateful for any help on this....

Assemble the brackets before bolting them to the compressor. At least that's what I remember from back when I ran the A6 (have a Sanden now).
