Default 73 Solenoid wires

The fabric covered wires to my starter solenoid are frayed and no identifiable color is left in the last 8 or so inches before the solenoid. Can someone tell me what the colors are and what lug each color ties to when viewing from overhead. Also one of the wires appears to have a 6 " section of fuse link spliced into it, should it be ? If so what amperage should I use ? I want to replace this section while I've got it on jackstands.
Thanks.

Purple wire connects to the "S" terminal which is closest to the block.
Yellow wire connects to the "R" terminal, which is closest to the fender.
Brown wire connects from battery terminal (top solenoid post) to the horn relay.
Brown has the fusible link.

Thanks Peterbuilt, just the info I need plus some. Schematic is much better than the one I have. Any idea what amperage fuse link it should be ?

Presuming it protects a 10 ga wire, use 14 ga fusible link. Always 2 gauge sizes smaller than the wire it protects.

Thanks for the input guys. I hope to get it on the ground this week after 1 year on jackstands. Trailing arms rebuilt, u-joints, brakes, transmission leaks, oil leaks, rubber bushings....it seems to never end.
