Default 1980 Aux Fan fitting

I'm attempting to fit the OEM aux fan option to my 1980 C3. I have two questions, the first being how fan from the radiator should the fan sit? The second question is I have a 1/8" run out on the plastic fan blades. Is this normal? If not, is there anyone who sells replacement fan blades? If anyone has a photo or mud map of the for legs placement within the shroud that would also be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Mark

The 79-82 auxiliary fans all use a mounting bracket inside the fan shroud which orients the fan. Use the 80 AIM L-82 option pages for hole placement in the shroud and outlet hole for the fan wiring.

The electric fan is very close to the radiator. It can only go on one way due to the clocking of the bracket. Be sure to use a low temperature sensor to turn it on. The factory sensor doesn't turn it on until 238 degrees.

Easy mike, I am using the ASM for that very purpose and will use the book and fan spider to get it close enough. I am looking at about 1/2" way from the rad for final placement. One thing I can not find and that is the sensor wire for the after market sensor for the cut in/out. I have the power and ground wire coming from the AC loom, however no sensor wire, any thoughts?

Street Rat, any thoughts I my reply to Easy Mike. I can not locate the sensor wire. One thing I did not mention is that when testing the wiring the aux fan power is live when the AC is running. Does this sound correct. Any assistance appreciated.

The wire is blue in color on my '81. It is located on top of the evaporator housing next to the blower resistor.

Install the sending unit in the rear of the passenger's side head. Run the wire to the fan.

On my 82 it was 2 heavy gauge wire going to the passenger side of the block to plug into the temp sensor. The wire was hot and when the sensor reach the setting it would send power directly to the fan. No relay. That surprised me but that explains why the wire was heavy gauge.

Street Rat, you were right on the money and the first person to let me know how to wire in the sender. Tested the resistance from the wire in the 6 pin harness going to the starter motor and it worked great. Once again thanks.
