Just his passion man. Hey what else is there in a small town to do? I dont read him posting malicious content. Looks here like he stepped on a lot of feet though. But who doesnt? Plenty other big time enthusiasts here dont agree much with each other or even have dialogue. I read a lot of his posts i dont want to participate in so i dont.
My biggest peev on the forum here is all the non-supporting vendors selling their info as gospel and then their parts to the uniformed. Some how the mods here let them get away with it. I dont see that in this guy with all the posts on just one page. My expectation is he will run out of wind sometime and will really start to help those here that need it. I dont know the guy and noticed his high activity too but so what? Not trying to defend him just dont see anything wrong with a lot of posts. Maybe its the controversy topic and that no-one here has the final authority to call an issue or fix "Yea" or "Nay".
Cant handle someone with a larger case of OCD than u? Deal with it.
OK.... I did just that... and.. holy chit.... spam machine .... well beyond a passion,,, its ocd obsession, and it looks like we better get used to it...

Unfortunately, placing a member on the ignore list doesn't also hide threads they've started, nor does the number of lists on which said member might have been placed negatively impact their status. I only hope those looking to the CF for reliable information know how to spot the difference between quantity and quality before anyone gets hurt. On the plus side, at least any misinformation &/or outright BS being posted by the member in question isn't going unchallenged. Just don't anyone get themselves sent to band camp over this particular

Normally I try to stay out of these sorts of discussions, but, I need to tell you a story that just might apply here:
Years ago I was pretty active in a Dodge truck forum. It was very similar to this forum with a mix of very knowledgeable experienced owners and complete newbies. One day a new user signed up and started almost immediately posting dozens of questions and off the wall comments daily. His questions would always change as people gave him answers he didn't like and began to really annoy other users. He talked and talked about his truck and all of the custom work he was planning to do.
This went on for over a year with many users either ignoring him and some even blocking him. Then, all of a sudden, he disappeared. About a month later the registered owner of the web site received a letter in the mail from his father. Apparently his son had passed away after a lifetime of severe illness. It turn out his son was 18 and had been in a wheelchair all of his life due to birth defects and terminal illness. The truck he talked about was sitting next to the garage in the back yard and he could see it through his bedroom window where he spent the last year of his life! His father wanted to share his thanks to the forum members for "giving his son hope and enjoyment in his last days"! It really broke our hearts to find out the real story.
We only know our fellow internet users by what they write and have no idea what they might be struggling with in their real world. Some members can be a bit annoying at times, but, we need to take the good with the bad on the world wide web!

I believe one major concern of forum members is the accuracy of information being posted and the potential outcome. We can all argue about brands of cylinder heads, but when it comes to keeping people safe, I have see this forum as a united front. When somebody posts photo's of bald tires that they have been out actually driving on, this is a concern. I wouldn't want him passing me on a rainy night. Also, I stopped visiting another less known forum due to the atmosphere created there.

These guys come and go. They get a little excited that someone listened to them and they widen their knowledge base buy using Google to find answers. Usually takes a year or two and they lose interest and move on.
On thing though if post complete garbage someone will jump on it and make you look foolish. This usually doesn't deter the determined wannabee expert as maybe only 20 members saw his post, so he continues on and on. But before anyone ever gets injured the thread will get stomped on.
There was a member who was like the Energizer Bunny who could not be deterred no matter what non-sense came he came out with, and was a member for years, answering most questions asked every day, the infamous DB

Who is DB? Funny thing is that he helped me on another forum figure out my head light situation, but seems that senility has set in.
