Hoping someone could help me out. I'm pulling my 350 and t400 trans from my 72 and replacing it with a zz502 and tko600. I had no idea the hardest part to find would be a pulley kit. I can buy stock brackets, and pulleys but it's close to 1000. I can't bring my self to do that. For that kind of coin I would hope think there is a better option. I don't mind spending the money on a better option. I would like to keep the short water pump that came with the motor. It's a non ac power steering car. I found this setup from white performance but I don't know if it will fit has anyone used this setup before or used an other setup that will work. I'll be putting on an l88 hood.
Bill,
My 69 does not have AC or PS. I used pulleys and brackets from either a 68 Camaro or a 68 Chevelle, I forget which. I also have the short water pump
I had all the original GM pullies which saved me that cool $1000 bucks. You can mod a serpantine set up from some other late model GM cars. The one member that did that comes to mind is damoroso if you want to look him up. I think he did a pick/pull and put it all together himself for much less than $1000. Other than that, the original after market pullies BB config are expensive.

Did this swap into a '64 vette with a ZZ454 with AC
Or call white and ask them. It looks do able if the PS pulley is back enough to clear the cross member.
Also post your question on the C2 forum...same chassis there!!!!
A kit from March Performance lists for $800 but you would have to switch to remote reservoir ps pump.
No you don't, or at least I didn't. I have the March kit on my big block and the PS pump is in the same position. I had to modify the PS mounting bracket to make the belt line up, but its all good. Picture attached.

Excellent. I called March they told me get setup 20560 but I had to do a remote ps res. What mod did u end up doing to get it to fit? Here a pic of the kit from the March website.
Not sure the kit number I have. But it consists of the Water Pump Pulley, Harmonic Balancer Pulley, Alt Bracket and Pulley, PS pump pulley. I used a PS Bracket like this,
and it took a bit to get the main belt to line up. Looking at my setup everyone asks if the belt slips on the pulley, it doesn't and I do not have a lot of tension on it and it drives and works just fine. I can post more pictures of it if you need. Let me know.
Looking back, my kit consists of this kit, http://marchperformance.com/chevy-bi...ulley-kit.html
This PS pulley, http://marchperformance.com/chevy-sh...ne-pulley.html
The bracket kit from above and this alternator bracket and tensioner. http://marchperformance.com/chevy/ch...r-bracket.html.
Adding all that up was less than 500.00. Only hard part was modding the PS mount bracket to get the pump to line up, but I was able to do it in the car with no issues. If your motor is on the stand, it wil be even easier. Good luck.
One last semi important item, I had to mill out a small section of the Alternator bracket to make the fill port for the saginaw PS pump to fit.
if you have ps and no ac, a mercruiser setup may be worth considering...there are more big blocks in boats than cars. used brackets and pulleys are all over the place. they use the short vette water pump.
