I think the problem is that you are trying to post from your harddrive. You must have the picture stored on the internet somewhere.
I use http://www.picturejudge.com Do a right click on my signature picture, and then properties. You will see that the URL is from Picture Judge.
You can sign up for free at this site. It is basically a site where you vote on photos. But, I have found that pictures can be remote linked, with no bandwidth limit. It works great. The only drawback is that you have to wait a few hours for your picture to be approved. Once it is, you're good to go.
One last note: If you sign up with this site, to get your URL, you need to log in. Then, go to Picture Management. Then, find your picture, and Double-Click on it. The picture will be enlarged. Do the right click with the mouse to get the URL.
