1979 weather stipping
I helped a friend replaced the weather strips on her 1979 passenger side, the old ones were pretty bad. Hence the window closed all the way without any issue, now the motor will not bring the window (passenger side) all the way with the door close. But if you open the door, the glass will go all the up.
With the window all the way up and the door open, when one attempts to close the door. the glass wants to catch and not fit in the grove on the top and the side pillar.
Any insight on how make the window go up all the way with door close.

To piggyback, I have a question. Do you use any sort of adhesive for the weatherstripping?
To some insight, I've looked around a bit and people seem to agree that the weatherstripping will "settle" after a while and stuff shouldn't catch/shut badly for "too long", however long that is.

The pillar weatherstrip glued to the retainer but between the retainer and the windshield molding there was a thin section of rubber.. This rubber (instead of glue) was there so that adjustments could be made.
