Hello,
I purchased an aluminum receiver drier from one of the vendors.
It a Parker brand label affixed but came in an AC Delco labeled box.
Label says for R134A.
It was the only offering for 68-72 cars.
I still have an expansion valve.
I am planning on keeping it R-12.
It is going in a '68 C-60 optioned car.
Can I use this drier or do I need one specifically for R-12?
Thanks,
Marshal
I know way too much about molecular sieve adsorbents.
If it says it is for 134a it will be fine with R12 as it should be filled with X-H7 adsorbent. The R12 dryers would have had 4a XH-5 adsorbent and while fine for R12 are not good for 134a.
