Tips for removing differential drain plug for 1971

Hello,
What is the secret for removing the differential drain plug on 1971. I have even removed spare tire and still have a difficult time getting a wrench on it.

Usually a 5/8" EIGHT point socket, 12" extension and a ratchet.

I added a swivel to the socket and it made it easier to do since I couldn't seem to get to it head on..

I had to remove the ENTIRE spare tire tub, top and hardware...then put a four-foot breaker bar on the drive socket to get that bi+ch to turn!!! NOT fun.
